PHILOSOPHY:
- We see gardening as a cyclical process that builds on itself to create a stronger, healthier ecosystem year after year. (This, rather than the linear process of traditional farming, that starts in the spring, requires load of energy and ends after the fall harvest, leaving depleted, bare soil that will require starting over each year.)
- We believe in slow-gardening, or building a garden over time, as a process. An ecologically designed garden means that as the garden evolves, nature continuously rejuvenates the soil and retains water. Therefore, less human energy is needed to sustain the garden as it matures.
- Our garden designs include planting diverse, complementary species that naturally add nutrients to the soil and attract beneficial and interesting wildlife.
- We prefer building soil to buying it. By saving kitchen and yard waste to create nutrient packed compost, we sustainably rejuvenate the garden soil..

Benefits:
- The main benefit of this approach to food production is healthier produce than you could buy in a supermarket. Fruit that is allowed to ripen on the plant packs more nutrients, is fresher and tastes better!
- Other benefits include the exercise you get (or we get) caring for the garden, the peace of mind that comes from knowing where your food was grown, knowing it is safe, reduced petroleum consumption (fuel, fertilizers, refrigeration, etc), healthy land, and vast educational opportunities your children (or yourself, watching the garden develop).
- Further, our slow-gardening approach spreads the cost of installation out over several months, or years rather than in one lump sum. Our continued support and development of the garden guarantees that you won’t be left with an expensive landscape that deteriorates over time.
